CFA / Rigid Inclusion Rig Hire

AGD Rental were the first piling equipment hire company in the UK to offer CFA piling rigs for rent and we have continued to do so for 25 years.

We now have a fleet of 13 units of CFA & rigid inclusion piling rigs from restricted access / low headroom Comacchio CH4 machines weighing just 14 tons right up to 100 tons RTG RG25S rigs which can install up to 900 mm CFA piles to a maximum depth of 35 m, or cased CFA with 880 mm casing up to 23 m. All of our rigs are fitted with tier IV and V engines.

Concrete monitoring systems, concrete pipework and gates for common diameters all come as standard with our CFA / rigid inclusion piling rig fleet. Piling data is downloaded daily and emailed to customers as required.

We also offer the Comacchio CH4 as a compact pre auger rig which are particularly suited to vibro stone column and sheet piling contractors. These small piling rigs can be set up for work very quickly after arriving on site and are also ideal for king post retaining walls.

Pictured here is one of the latest additional to our fleet. The Comacchio CHF50. This machine is compact but also very powerful with a 15 ton metre torque rotary head. It can drill 750 mm diameter piles to a max depth of 27 m but it only weighs 45 tons making it ideal for avoiding police escorts! The stage V engine makes it perfect for London, HS2, Sizewell, Lower Thames Crossing or other inner city areas.

You can also see a video of the very latest machine to enter our fleet, the Comacchio CH4. This machine is deigned for restricted access sites and can also work in low headroom in either CFA or rotary mode.

All of our CFA & rigind inclusions piling rigs are available for hire with experienced CPCS qualified operators and banksmen as required.

Our centrally located facility in the heart of the Midlands allows us to offer competitive mobilisation costs for CFA piling rig hire throughout the UK.

We are also happy to receive enquiries to supply CFA / displacement piling rigs on hire anywhere in Europe.

Additionally we offer for hire complementary items such as CFA augers up to 900 mm diameter, displacement augers, rigid inclusions augers, tremie racks and core barrels. We also hire out piling rigs with twin rotary heads for cased CFA piling (also known as CSP). Due to the slim design of the twin rotary head these machines can work within 4" (100 mm) of an adjoining wall thus maximising the amount of basement space created. These RTG rigs can also be supplied with CFA rotary heads for standard CFA piling. Click here for further details.

CFA / Rigid Inclusion Piling Rigs FAQ

What is a CFA piling rig and how does it work?
A CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) piling rig installs deep foundation piles by drilling and concreting in one continuous operation. The auger is drilled to depth, then concrete is pumped through the hollow stem as it is withdrawn, forming a pile before reinforcement is inserted.
What is the difference between CFA piling, displacement piling and rigid inclusions?
CFA piling creates cast-in-place concrete piles with minimal vibration, while displacement piling displaces soil laterally without removing spoil. Rigid inclusions are used for ground improvement, forming load-bearing columns rather than structural piles.
What types of projects are CFA piling rigs used for?
CFA piling rigs are widely used on infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects, particularly where low noise and vibration are required. They are ideal for urban environments, bridge works, basements and sites with sensitive ground conditions.
What pile diameters and depths can your rigs achieve?
Our fleet supports a wide range of piling specifications, including augers up to 900 mm diameter and depths exceeding 30 metres, depending on the rig and ground conditions.
Do you supply operators and support staff with your piling rigs?
Yes, all of our CFA and displacement piling rigs are available with experienced CPCS-qualified operators. We can also supply banksmen and additional site support where required to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Can your rigs work in restricted access or close to existing structures?
Yes, we offer rigs with twin rotary heads for cased CFA piling (CSP), which can operate within as little as 100mm of an adjoining wall, making them ideal for basement construction and constrained urban sites.
